Original plan was to leave around noon on Wednesday, July 27th, but you know how things change.  Seemed everyone had Wednesday off work so why not leave earlier in the day?  Plans were made to meet at Bob Evans for breakfast at 8am.

We knew there was a front coming in from the west that would bring low humidity and cooler temps (like that idea).  BUT we had to drive through that band of green on the weather map before getting to that better weather.  We passed through a few minutes of big drops and thought we made it.  Then we spoke to Russ Coulson (our friend from Ohio) who informed us that we had not found the band of green yet.  We all thanked him for that good (??) news in our own unique fashions and then proceeded to find that band of green about an hour later.  It was a short lived shower and we were all dry by the time we made it to Dublin, OH (suburb of Columbus).  Russ found the four of us in the pool when he arrived and we all went to find dinner.

Thursday, day one at Homecoming, found us taking the motorcycle plant tour and visiting the vendor area in Bellefontaine (John will pronounce that for you).  Friday, day two, found us getting Russ signed up for a GL1800 demo ride and doing the auto plant tour.  I think Russ is still grinning from ear to ear since he returned from his ride that afternoon.  (and negotiations for the new Wing are under way…).  Later that day we visited Marysville for vendors and watched a great demonstration by the Indianapolis police drill team.  Saturday, day three, we rode to the AMA Hall of Fame museum, visited the Iron Pony cycle gear store, and then headed back to Homecoming central for the HRCA dinner and Goldwing giveaway.

Saturday evening was spent on the hotel patio where we popped the cork on the Myers’ champagne and toasted the five of us gathered there (who did NOT win the new Goldwing).  We enjoyed a nice relaxing evening with friends before packing up and heading for home on Sunday.  Great Homecoming with great friends.
