POKER RIDE

POKER RIDE

There was a poker ride in memory of one of our late members, Dexter Sturgis, on August 13.  I thought it was one of the hottest days this summer. We had a good showing from our club as well as our State Director and his wife, George and Ruthie Ramsey, and two other couples, Carl and Joanne Hickernell and Dave and Dottie Schoener, from Chapter F.  We had a Covered Bridge ride that Dexter himself laid out.  Our leader for the day was Ron Mentzer.  A fine job he and his Glo (GPS) did.  We would have never seen that Amish farm, back that ¼ mile lane, if it was not for Ron and his adventurous nature.  “Or his not listening to his copilot”.  Went back to the park for a picture, some hot dogs and some good fellowship. 50/50 drawing was held and there were two winners.  Our Geanne was one of the lucky ones, she made us all proud, when she showed what a big heart she has by giving her winnings to the Four Diamonds Fund.  Thanks Geanne.  Now back to the Geib’s to plan the next event.
