CAMPMOR TRIP

CAMPMOR TRIP

Reprinted from PA Chapter “A” Newsletter

We got snowed out the first time we planned this trip, but this time the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day.  Ron and Gloria Mentzer, Ken and Gerry Geib, John and Deniese Myers, and Clyde and Geanne Yohn met up at Cracker Barrel in Hamburg for breakfast.  Then it was about 2 hours to CampMor.  Everyone understood why I said this wasn’t a two-wheel trip as the farther up New Jersey we went and the closer to NYC we got, the worse traffic (and the roads) got.  We arrived at our destination ready to shop!  Everyone grabbed a shopping cart and off they went in separate directions to crawl in and out of tents, try on sleeping bags, test drive hiking sticks, and more.  Those of you who have never gone camping with us are going to have to stop by one of our outings this summer, as we absolutely have to be the best supplied group of campers there are!  And I don’t just mean motorcycle campers either.  We have more gadgets than you could possibly imagine.  Seems we now even have TWO dining canopies among us.  After shopping, Ken announced that he had a few Geocaches marked in the area and, since Ron and Gloria had never done one, off we went.  After turning around a few times we finally found where we needed to start and then had a nice stroll in the park to find our treasure.  Then we asked Elvira where to go for lunch and she directed us to Bennigans where we all ate too much.  Then back in the cars and heading for home …. But the Myers’ and the Yohn’s just haven’t had enough …. They stop at Cabelas and buy even MORE stuff before going home!  Hope to see you all camping this summer!
